Getting Hold of Us

Call (360) 244-7926 and you'll talk to someone who can ask what's wrong with the door and get a truck headed your way. If the spring snapped, the opener quit, or a panel got knocked loose, describe what you're seeing and hearing - grinding, a door that won't budge, a cable hanging loose - and that tells us what to bring so we're not making a second trip for a part.

Our shop is at 9611 NE 117th Ave, Vancouver, WA 98662. We don't run a walk-in counter for parts sales, so if you're calling about a repair, the phone is the fastest way to reach us rather than stopping by.

We don't publish a guaranteed arrival window here, because how fast we can get to you depends on where you are in our service area and what's already on the schedule that day. Ask when you call and we'll give you a straight answer based on that day, not a number we post for marketing.

Where We Work

  1. We cover Vancouver, WA and the ring of communities around it

Close in, that's a mile to the northeast a mile southeast a mile west-northwest. A few minutes further out we work in Minnehaha, Five Corners, Hazel Dell, Orchards, and Barberton, all within four or five miles of the shop.

  2. Farther out we still take calls in Lake Shore, Salmon Creek, Brush Prairie, Mount Vista, Felida, Camas, and Hockinson, each six to eight miles from us, and we go as far as Ridgefield, Washougal, and Lewisville at thirteen miles, La Center at sixteen, and Amboy at twenty miles to the north

  3. If your address is somewhere in that spread and you're not sure whether it's in range

Just call and ask. It's easier to answer in thirty seconds on the phone than to guess from a list.

Work We Turn Down

Most of the houses we get called to here went up between 1977 and 2011, with a lot of that stock dating from the 1980s and 90s across the neighborhoods we cover. That means most of what we see is standard torsion and extension spring setups on openers from that era - parts we carry and know well.

What we don't take on is structural work: if a door frame is out of square because the garage itself has settled or shifted, that's a carpentry or foundation job first, and a new door won't sit right until that's fixed. We'll tell you that straight instead of hanging a door on a bad frame.

Vancouver's weather stays mild with the occasional freeze, which is hard on hardware sitting outside the garage rather than inside it, but we don't do general exterior carpentry or siding repair around the opening - just the door, track, spring, and opener. With 54,040 owner-occupied houses across the area we cover, we'd rather stick to garage door work and send you to the right trade for everything else than take a job we'd have to patch together.

Door stuck open or won’t close?

A garage door that won’t close leaves your home open. Tell us what’s happening and we’ll help you figure out the fastest way to get it secured.

Questions

Frequently asked

Straight answers about garage door repair in Vancouver. Still unsure? Ask us directly.

Do you work in Hazel Dell or just Vancouver proper?

Hazel Dell is one of our regular service areas, along with Orchards, Salmon Creek, Five Corners, and the rest of the 22 areas we cover. If you're within about 20 minutes of central Vancouver, call and we'll confirm.

My house was built in the late 80s - is that why the spring keeps breaking?

Possibly. A lot of the housing stock here dates to the 1980s and 90s, and torsion springs from that era are simply reaching their cycle limit. It's not a design flaw, just normal wear on hardware that's 30-plus years old.

Does Vancouver's weather affect garage doors much?

The climate band here is mild with occasional freeze, so we don't see the extreme cold damage some regions do. But a freeze snap can still stiffen old grease or seize a roller on an unheated garage, especially on doors that haven't been serviced in years.

Do you stock parts for older or custom doors?

We carry what fits the standard steel sectional doors common across the housing stock here. For older custom or wood carriage doors, we may need to order the part - we'll tell you that honestly before starting the job.
